There is no stronger bond than that which is drawn in ink. Johnny Depp, estrela of "The Lone Ranger" which hit theaters a few days ago, and Damien Echols, one third of the original trio of West Memphis, have shared some time together on the red carpet during the past year to promote " West of Memphis "documentary with very good reviews about three men, including Echols, who last August were released from prison rib tattoos after being unjustly imprisoned for 18 years.
Turns out the actor and former rib tattoos prisoner have shared some time in some tattoo parlors. Despite not being officially involved with the film, Depp has been strong rib tattoos support for "West of Memphis" and the legal crusade finally released the three men who are Echols, Jessie Misskelley Jr. and Jason Baldwing, which were accused in 1993 of murdering three children eight years old that were found next to a ravine in the Robin Hood Hills area of West Memphis, Arkansas.
Depp and Echols have become close friends and have sealed their union with some permanent marks. The most striking of all is shared by the two tattoo and is the image of a raven, which can be found in the back of their right hands. Art is a sign of "The Raven", released to theaters in 1994, the same year that the three were convicted, the action film about Eric Draven (represented by the great Brandon Lee now deceased), an rock musician whose brutal murder is avenged when rising from the grave a year after his death, guided by a mystical crow. It is an issue that explores Echols says in his autobiography, "Life after the mother"
"In the movie they talk about the mythology of how the raven is considered to be something that carries souls to the kingdom of death or into the realm of the living," Echols rib tattoos said in an interview rib tattoos with People magazine last fall.
